Nerikomi Bowl No. 245

$180.00

Ø 9” x 2” h. Stoneware with clear glaze interior and unfinished outer surface & edge. Food-safe and dishwasher-friendly.

I like to think these descriptors/missives are like messages in bottles, arriving on distant shores or perhaps slowly sinking into the briny depths, unread, unknown, lost in the passages of time. Writing intuitively about these bowls & cups somehow help me better understand Shannon’s approach—writing (and maybe reading this, as communicative strategy) is often like a ping into the deep ether.

This piece is stunning and likely one of my favorite designs. Part animal print & part 90s Bad painting (à la Cologne School?), it somehow feels like a Cyndi Lauper song gone off the rails. Or drunken Duran Duran? I don’t even know what that means, but I do know this would be awesome for a dinner party. I keep one in heavy rotation in our kitchen now.
