Nerikomi Bowl No. 260
Ø 9” x 2” h. For unknown reasons, I’ve been slow to make this pattern available. The color palette and design hover somewhere foreign, caught between oblique references to Gee’s Bend Quilts, Martin Kippenberger’s Prize paintings, and some version of a psychedelic Pacific Northwest skirt—a forlorn garment lost in the vintage racks in Tacoma somewhere.
But today, aimlessly drifting through the studio and seeing pieces of this nerikomi pattern torn apart and jammed into a plaster mold to (hopefully) one day appear as a mug—with handle, no less—well, it just seemed like the right time. As always, limited edition.
Stoneware with clear glaze interior and unfinished outer surface & edge. Food-safe and dishwasher-friendly.
