Nerikomi Mug Set no. 1
Cup Ø 3.75” x 2.75” h. / Saucer Ø 5.75”
Each cup embeds trimmings from the nerikomi processes that we use to form our bowls & plates. Patterned fragments and solid clay sections are hand-pressed into a plaster mold, casting them in place; inlay patterns are visible on both interior & exterior surfaces, with matching handle extruded from the same pattern. For this set, a nerikomi plate—made from a slice of the same pattern utilized in the cup—is offered as well.
Interior surface is clear-glazed while the exterior surface is left raw to enhance the experience of touching natural clay. All Slush Club objects are food-safe and dishwasher-friendly.
While our cups are formed in a plaster mold, each cup is unique and variation is to be expected; the stacking of clays and forming to the mug shape also creates subtle warping (like, the opening is not an even oval but rather a more organic version of what an oval could be).
This set is a limited edition; please expect variations.
